Biography of Evg. Millie Colon
THE BEGINNING
Marisa Millie Colon and loving husband, Jesus of 37 years have two children, Moses and David and three grandchildren Kenneth, Savannah and Avanna. Together they have been attending Christian Pentecostal Church for 13 years and it was 19 years ago that the Lord touched her life in a special way.
Evg. Millie Colon at the age of 24 began to experience various malfunctions in her body. These symptoms would go on for years. She had pain in her stomach, and vomiting. These symptoms were treated with antibiotics prescribed by her Doctor. Shortly after moving to Staten Island from Brooklyn, Evg. Millie collapsed one day at her place of employment. She was rushed to the hospital and was admitted for a month’s time. The doctors were convinced it was psychological and considered to diagnose Millie with bulimia due to her significant underweight of 90 lbs. After many test Doctors noticed a significant increase in her white blood cell count. She was referred to special testing at Mt Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, NY, where a biopsy confirmed Millie had Crohn’s disease.
THE DISEASE
Crohn’s disease is an inflammatory disease of the bowel. It generally progresses causing blockage of the intestines and sometimesfistulae-abnormal passages between the intestines and the surface of the abdomen. Complications may involve other parts of the body including inflammation of the eye, severe arthritis, inflammation of the spine, skin and mouth ulcers and kidney stones. Surgery to remove the colon usually does not cure the disease. The end results are usually fatal.
Crohn’s disease began to take it’s course on Millie’s body and she was put on an experimental medication which caused loss of hair and joint disease. The year was now 1995, Millie was 37 years old. In that same year she was hospitalized 5 times and was unable to walk, eat solid foods and suffered from constant pain. Placed on a feeding tube, Doctors suggested surgically removing part of her intestine which led Millie to fall into a deep depression. As her husband’s family were Christians, they began to pray and witness to Millie. Her husband’s cousin was an Evangelist and he came to visit her at the hospital. He prayed over her and then ironically left his Bible in the hospital room. Tired and depressed, not wanting surgery, Millie signed herself out of the hospital against medical advice.
THE CURE
A privately-hired home health aid cared for Millie where she had resigned herself to die. She began to read the Bible she had brought home from the hospital. She had never witnessed nor heard of modern miraculous healing, but wondered if it could still happen today. She began to ask God if he still cared and if he still healed. She proceeded to try to get out of bed, but promptly fell down. On the floor she began to cry out to God and then the Holy Spirit spoke to her heart saying “Get up, take up your mat and walk.” Millie replied “No, I can’t do it.” Suddenly, Millie began to feel as if someone was lifting her up. She began to take some steps, but was scared. She then heard a voice say “Get rid of your fear” where she then began to walk.
Day by day healing continued taking place in Millie’s life. She began to walk more and more every day. Though she was nothing but skin and bones by this time, she began learning how to eat all over again. She prayed over her food daily and it stayed down. There was no question, that God has touched Millie Colon.
THE MINISTRY
Soon after these events had occurred, Millie was lead by the spirit to a church , where she heard beautiful music and prophecy spoken concerning “doubt.” During the Altar call Millie was prayed for and she received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Over the next several months, she got stronger and stronger and maintained in the Word. Returning to the Hospital for testing due to Doctors orders, Millie found out her colonoscopy and X-ray test were completely normal. The Lord had indeed healed her. She had no pain leaving physicians stunned. Dr. Walter H. Rothman, a gastroenterologist at Mt. Sinai hospital said, “I’ve never seen anything like this!”
Marisa Millie Colon has been healed, saved and delivered for over 19 years. In June 2000, she graduated the Assemblies of God Bible Institute. Since then, she has traveled spreading the love of God and sharing her testimony. Lives have been blessed, saved and restored through her testimony. In 2004 Evg. Millie Colon and her husband Jesus were anointed and released from Christian Pentecostal Church to open Living Water Healing Center. In 2009, Pastor Tito and Millie Colon become the Senior Pastors of Living Water Healing Center. Evg. Millie is a very grateful and gifted woman of God, who flows in the gifts of healing and deliverance under the power of the Holy Spirit.
